Permanent Magnets for a Fixed Tune Proton Therapy FFA Very rapid cycling is required for FLASH hadron therapy accelerators, to allow multiple depths to be treated in a short space of time. A recent design by Trbojevic uses an non-linear, non-scaling FFA with flat tunes to achieve this. The protons are accelerated in the range from 10-250MeV, with tune variation +/-0.001 per cell. The arc can be implemented using permanent magnets, which have now been ordered from a vendor to make a demonstration beamline at the NSRL beamline at BNL.
