A friend noticed how (not very good) newspapers would so often have headlines of the form "Scientists say..." in order to raise some issue or the other.  So I went to the page http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Scientists+say%22[Open External Link in New Window] to find out from Google, index of the internet, just what they have allegedly been saying.  Apparently, Scientists Say:-

Now, being a scientist myself (or mathematician, or at least something similar) I'm pretty sure I've never said any of those things.  I seriously doubt some of them are even true, but that's the media and their representation of science for you.

Whoever counted all 145 of those lakes in Antarctica at least had persistence, though...
