The electrons will go through the left hole and the calcium atoms will go through the right hole.  Then they should converge in the centre of the ion trap.  #physics

<br />We weren't quite sure if the calcium vapour at ~300C would act as a gas or more like a "beam" of atoms which would condense on the first cold surface, so I've made a design that works for both.
