Interesting that in KATE:
<br />Home/End = horizontal ends
<br />Ctrl+Home/End = vertical ends
<br />PageUp/Down = vertical page flip
<br />Ctrl+PageUp/Down = horizontal page flip
<br />
<br />What's a horizontal page flip?  Changing to the next tabs in either direction!
