IngisKahn 2006-02-01 18:20:03 | I was just wondering why you divide some browsers by version... Doesn't that give an advantage to the browsers that aren't split? |
Stephen Brooks 2006-02-02 10:40:51 | I'll probably split FireFox when it gets a version 2.0. There's also a thing called "SeaMonkey" about, but I'm not sure if that's a browser per se. |
SAM 2006-02-03 16:13:59 | Yes, that SeaMonkey thing is a browser. It is the successor to Mozilla. See my previous topic: http://stephenbrooks.org/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/819608064/m/5791064672 Now that SeaMonkey 1.0 is out, I would appreciate if you could add it here. |
Stephen Brooks 2006-02-25 14:52:56 | OK, I've done that. Mozilla had too long a bar anyway it needed to be spilt up. |
SAM 2006-02-25 16:50:30 | Thanks a lot! |
p_p 2006-12-06 01:22:57 | You should get rid of the old versions. I mean, who would still be using Opera 6? |
flush 2006-12-09 19:36:37 | Why? You still see them from time to time. I sometimes use them when testing websites. Besides, it's fun to dig up my old versions of Opera7 and IE4 and whip up on Opera 9 and IE7. |
Romain Vigier 2006-12-10 18:33:43 | And why not? If separated versions of some browsers are listed (like IE or Opera), why is there only « Firefox », instead of Firefox 0.9, Firefox 1.0, Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2.0? |
Stephen Brooks 2006-12-23 15:51:01 | FireFox 2 needs its own team, I think... |
Stephen Brooks 2006-12-23 16:10:24 | Now the question is - does it get detected OK by the page? |
flush 2007-01-05 15:20:38 | Doesn't seem to be working. |
Stephen Brooks 2007-01-19 12:35:39 | Oops, sorry. Try this page: http://stephenbrooks.org/games/browserwars/?modal=idtest and tell me what you see. |

K`Tetch 2007-02-13 07:36:10 | romain vigier - there is a major difference between opera 6 and 7, and 8 and 9 - the only difference between firefox 0.9 and 1.0 is a lot of bugs get fixed. same with 1.0 and 1.5 Its not a new version, just major fixes to whats touted as 'the safest browser' (just as iraq is clearly the safest country to be in, and for a similar reason - with all those guns, its got to be safe) |
