Carsten [www.rechenkraft.de] 2002-05-27 06:36:44 | to add the Top 100 results to the results.dat-file i have wrote a simple Batch-file: @echo off copy results.dat results.bak copy results.dat+best100.txt results.dat del best100.txt echo on the second line only makes a Backup of the original file. |
Orbi-tel 2002-05-27 07:59:53 | I thought the bet100 had to do at the beginning of the file not the end. Is this correct Stephen. Also do you need to remove the previous best100 data added to the .dat file or just prepend the new ones before them? |
Orbi-tel 2002-05-27 12:50:41 | BUMP as I need a reply from Stephen to my Q |
Stephen Brooks 2002-05-27 12:54:50 | It doesn't really matter what's in the DAT file, as long as it's the correct format, all valid results and NO EXTRA BLANK LINES. So to answer your question, you may insert the best100 (and maybe multiple best100s) anywhere in the file so long as the rhythm of "data line","muon% line" is preserved. The reason we added the best100 to the beginning of results.txt (something that I now disapprove of, because the best100 should not be sent to me) is that the program worked by appending to that file, so it was a bit difficult to add it to the end!
