HaloJones 2004-10-25 02:57:19 | I've got a farm running where one machine has much the best results. Should I take that machine's results.dat and distribute it to the rest or would that not be a good idea? |
kitsura 2004-10-25 03:01:31 | The samples files already contain the best results so you don't have to waste time with that. |
Stephen Brooks 2004-10-25 03:11:02 | Some people do do this with their own group of computers. I think it's quite a good idea, since it allows you to follow your 'own' branch of results more than just the same branch everyone else is on. I've not done any quantitative investigation into whether this "works", though, so it's really up to you. Nothing will go wrong if you don't. |
kitsura 2004-10-25 10:21:06 | But if you already download the sample files I don't see how you are not already following everyone else's branch. Correct me if I'm wrong. |
HaloJones 2004-10-25 14:20:20 | because I didn't download the sample results file. |
Stephen Brooks 2004-10-25 16:39:33 | quote:You can turn "auto-download sample files" off in config.txt to stop them downloading. |
[DPC]Alphen - Milo 2004-10-27 02:57:08 | How about the lattice files? Can i redistribute them from one computer to all the others or do you have to do that automaticly? |
