Zerberus 2012-01-31 20:33:34 | Still shown as generic Firefox. Anyone? |
Zerberus 2012-03-25 10:16:01 | And now it's 11.0. Did you stop making a version difference due to the rapid development cycle? |
Stephen Brooks 2012-03-27 17:51:33 | Yeah I dunno. Firefox's numbering is a bit stupid. Maybe I should make a single icon for "Firefox 1x" that serves versions 10 through 19. |
Zerberus 2012-03-29 13:23:52 | It isn't any more stupid than Chome's (which started it all). And Chrome doesn't seem to make version differences at all, so why did Firefox? |
Stephen Brooks 2012-04-01 17:40:24 | Chrome's version numbering is also stupid. But Firefox was one of the bigger browsers so I broke it down into versions like IE and Opera. But now I might just leave version 10+ as generic Firefox. |
Zerberus 2012-04-15 11:23:53 | So let's just keep it as Firefox (scratch the 'Generic' term). Due to the rapid advance of major version numbers (a horribly stupid thing to do in my eyes) you sometimes had some problems getting a game going, because different Firefox versions competed with themselves. And the new ESR release line doesn't make it any better. There's another reason that versioning difference doesn't make any sense anymore: Past Firefox versions rapidly become end-of-life and shouldn't be used anymore anyway. new 2012-06-15 13:00:05 | I agree. It seems to be smarter today to don't split browsers by versions. There are too many of them to keep up-to-date with. |
Stephen Brooks 2012-10-28 19:01:49 | IE used to give Firefox a cake for versions 2,3,4. Now they give them a cupcake because the versions are smaller: http://limpet.net/mbrubeck/2012/10/26/mozilla-ie10-cake.html |
Daft Wullie 2012-12-04 02:15:54 | Please please Stephen go back to having all versions of Firefox recorded as the same browser. For a start I am using what will become Firefox 20 and it is shown as Firefox 2 |
Zerberus 2012-12-11 14:56:38 | Additionally, Opera still doesn't seem to be fixed. |
Stephen Brooks 2014-09-06 22:48:47 | I've added Firefox 1n, 2n, 3n, 4n. |
Zerberus 2014-09-07 08:40:52 | Still detected as Firefox 3, though. A lot of scripts do have problems with two-digit browser versions.
