emphasis 2007-12-05 21:54:30 | hi stepen, Could you change "[DPC] Team Coldfusion~Pskutte" to "[DPC] Team ColdFusion~Pskutte". It's a small change, but our subteam stats don't like the difference. thx alot!! |
Stephen Brooks 2007-12-06 11:59:17 | I've tried to do it, but not sure if it'll work since the stats are hosted on a Windows system and all the filenames are case insensitive! |
Rocker_ed 2007-12-28 11:09:32 | Hi Stephen Could you change the nick [DPC]Happy Hour into [DPC]Happy Hour~Polo1987 Thx |
Stephen Brooks 2007-12-29 00:11:57 | I'll do this on January 2nd when I return to work where I can access the machine. |

Stephen Brooks 2008-01-02 11:42:28 | I've just done this here, should appear in the next stats update in an hour or so. |
emphasis 2008-01-05 13:49:58 | hi stephen, could you rename "[DPC] Team ColdFusion~SuspiciouS" to "[DPC] Team ColdFusion~sus"? thx |
Stephen Brooks 2008-01-07 11:48:56 | OK, done that now. |
emphasis 2008-01-07 18:13:49 | thx, but are you sure you used an upper case "F"? our stats seems te be messed up by it. |
Stephen Brooks 2008-01-08 15:14:21 | Ah, I did forget to write it with a capital F. I've changed the case now. |
skycrane 2008-03-24 15:29:05 | hi stephen, can you merge Skycrane[US-Distributed] to my new Skycrane[XS] |
Frentik 2008-03-24 19:11:18 | Hi Stephen Can you change the username: [DPC] BB KaTTuKK to [DPC]Team Boonanza~KaTTuK And watch the capitals |
Stephen Brooks 2008-03-25 10:44:10 | Hmm, I can't see any results from [DPC]Team Boonanza~KaTTuK in the database yet. Have you changed your user.txt files yet? If so, try manually flushing some, so I can be sure I'm merging to the same spelling that you're using! |
Frentik 2008-03-25 15:07:55 | OK i will tell him to flush some points today. |
Frentik 2008-03-25 18:11:28 | Ok, he just flushed ~2300 Mpts on his new name [DPC]Team Boonanza~KaTTuK so the old account [DPC] BB KaTTuKK can be merged to the new account. But unfortunately there is a small error in the new name, it should have two capital K's at the end. Can you change that or does he have to flush again with the correct name? |
Stephen Brooks 2008-03-26 10:25:19 | He has to make sure his user.txt have the correct spelling in them. I'll merge everything into [DPC]Team Boonanza~KaTTuKK now, I hope that's what you meant. |
Frentik 2008-03-26 19:25:32 | Yep thanks, that is the correct account. Sorry for the troubles |
Liuqyn 2008-04-12 21:23:54 | Hi first poster here, just started running this with Yo-Yo and would like to merge all my names together. old ones are "[AMD Users]Liuqyn" "[AMD Users]Liuqyn (Boinc Wrapper) 70" "Liuqyn (Boinc Wrapper) 70" new one is "Liuqyn [AMD Users] (Boinc Wrapper) 70" Thanks |
Stephen Brooks 2008-04-12 21:33:19 | If you were running it with yoyo I guess you'd not be able to have put any results in "[AMD Users]Liuqyn", so you've moved from the stand-alone client to the BOINC one? I don't mind which you do, just interested to hear how people are using it. Yes, I should be able to make those changes when I come in again on Monday. |
Liuqyn 2008-04-12 21:42:05 | ya, I stopped using the stand alone, and yoyo adds the "(Boinc Wrapper) 70" part after my account name so nothing I can do about it. when I seen I could still contribute to the team here, I figured why not. also Monday's fine, might take that long to iron out the name change through yo-yo. |
yoyo 2008-04-12 22:28:33 | Hello, I see a problem here. The muon1 teams and teams in yoyo@home are listed at DC-Vault and compared to each other. If credits crunched with yoyo@home goes also to the team at muon1 the credits a user crunches will be credited twice to the team. First at yoyo@home and second at muon1. This would not be fair for other teams at DC-Vault. yoyo |
Liuqyn 2008-04-12 23:36:16 | yoyo, I thought about that as well, and came to two conclusions, first anybody can make this change if they so choose, or change the yoyo app to not report each users score but only a single unified score. not sure if this is possible though as I don't know how the code works. |
Stephen Brooks 2008-04-12 23:46:49 | Well, it's confusing. I could remove the boinc credits for a team-list that is only used for dc-vault. But I wouldn't be able to do that if you (Liuqyn) merged your non-boinc to your boinc credits, or at least then your original muon points would now be counted zero times. |
yoyo 2008-04-13 07:43:15 | Yes, the yoyo app can be changed to not report the user. In this case all credits go to one anonymous boinc account at muon. |
Liuqyn 2008-04-13 19:29:00 | I think this is the better way, plus I can now change my name back to just Liuqyn. |
Liuqyn 2008-04-13 19:34:08 | Stephen, with yoyo changed, just merge my new names as you see fit. any new work I run with your app will be on [AMD Users]Liuqyn. thanks |
Stephen Brooks 2008-04-14 11:25:56 | Are you sure people are going to like having their work "anonymised" like this? If all the yoyo results go into one account, it'll be impossible to improve your Muon1 team ranking unless you run the 'classic' client. It doesn't make much difference to me, though if it goes back to a single BOINC account I'll have to merge all the separate users back in to that. |
yoyo 2008-04-14 17:09:49 | Boinc users expect there credits in the boinc project. There the credits are also in the team. Boinc projects and none-boinc projects are compared and summarized by teams at dc-vaults. So it must be avaided that teams get credits twice in the boinc world and in the none-boinc world. I see the following options, a) prefered: a) user anonymized @muon b) user individuell credits @muon, but in one boinc team c) remove yoyo@home from dc-vaults: would be not good for boinc fans. I just wait for an answer from the admin ... maybe more options yoyo |
Liuqyn 2008-04-14 20:40:26 | I vote option A. was actually surprised to see individual stats here since the other yoyo projects go into one name at their non-boinc site. also, I agree all the (Boinc Wrapper) accounts should then be merged into the one anonymous name. ps. I feel strange saying this as I kinda liked running up points for my team on both... but I agree with yoyo that this is better. |
Stephen Brooks 2008-04-16 12:51:52 | Seems it would be too complicated to do anything else, so we can go back to one anonymous account. (This might be hidden in the muon overall stats because it's not really one person, so shouldn't be ranked with the rest). I did suggest a fourth option (d) which was to give a total to dc-vault from yoyo's project that excluded Muon1 points but had all the others. But apparently he can't have a different total going to dc-vault than is displayed on the main BOINC stats. |
shauge 2008-04-22 20:36:36 | I think some of our team members will be disapointed about loosing their credits on muon, I lost about 300000 in the change in policy, before I noticed it. As already pointed out, every team can get this combined credits, so it is not completely unfair, but it would have made many crunch for muon and yoyo. I also have an option d) that I find interesting: d) Let users choose to get team stats in either boinc or muon. |
yoyo 2008-04-22 20:55:26 | yoyo@home was created to bring the power of boinc crunchers to the project. They mostly did not know of the projects until it was available in Boinc. Therefore the credits are in the boinc project, credits are not lost they are in yoyo@home team-/user-/host stats. User which are already running muon1.exe and have there individual user/team stats in muon should continue with muon1.exe. I think the best way is to have all boinc work on one anonymous muon team account. |
