Jathanis 2013-01-31 05:55:06 | Please help - After doing 10M points a while back, I took an unplanned break due to some computer failures. Now, trying to come back, I forgot to add my tean to my username in user.txt... Can you please add the points from my recent account "Jathanis" to my old (and correct) account "[H]Jathanis"? Thank you! |
Stephen Brooks 2013-01-31 10:30:24 | OK, should be reflected in the stats within a few hours. Make sure you've corrected user.txt on all your machines. |
Jathanis 2013-02-01 05:45:48 | Perfect - thanks! Both user.txt have been corrected and clients restarted, just to be on the safe side. |
[DPC]EekTheMan 2013-09-16 11:32:15 | New user here who is in denial that he needs glasses....I made a mistake in the user.txt. Instead of [DPC]EekTheMan, I wrote {DPC]EekTheMan :_o = Could you somehow correct this for me to: [DPC]EekTheMan I have changed the user.txt on both my PC's to [DPC]EekTheMan now. Thanks! [Edited by [DPC]EekTheMan at 2013-09-16 11:35:03] [Edited by [DPC]EekTheMan at 2013-09-16 11:35:15] |
Stephen Brooks 2013-09-16 18:09:45 | OK I've renamed the files on the server, it should show up in the stats in a few hours. As for glasses, I've found the various different combinations of res and screen size affect how easy it is to read a desktop screen. So I got a 1920x1080 21.5" panel and that's rather on the small side, 23" is better, I'd imagine 24" is optimal for 1080p. Work gave me a 2560x1440 screen at 27" and the dot pitch was so small I had to scale Windows 7's GUI to 125%. Probably 30-32" is optimal there. |
[DPC]EekTheMan 2013-09-17 02:39:15 | CTRL+.......+..+++ Ah! Thanks Mr Brooks. I am actually browsing the web now trying to find a replacement for my replacement laptop...of my spare laptop...if the plague exists for laptops, it definately hit my house Looking for a good programming/gaming(XCOM)/crunching laptop. The above result took a month of crunching @10% on an AMD TL-50 64. Wayyy too long. Another laptop is on 9,9KB for 2 weeks now. But a good screen is important too. Daytime is OK for me, but in the evening when I get tired I really need a high res screen. I would like a large screen like yours, but that is not realy an option on a laptop. But the absurdly high resolutions recently shown on the IFA will probably allow me to postpone on buying glasses for another 5 years |
Stephen Brooks 2013-09-17 14:30:40 | These options from Scan might be useful inspiration (sorry UK pricing). In my experience Scan's preconfigured systems are quite well balanced, though I've never had a "gaming laptop" - always had a netbook for travel and a powerful desktop at home. |
