Stephen Brooks 2004-08-11 10:42:17 | It looks like I might be going to this event in London next month: http://www.pparc.ac.uk/in/cern50.asp I don't know any more about it than the website says, but it appears to have the afternoon devoted to promoting industrial uses of distributed computing. I'm basically invited because my simulation animation is an interesting thing to have on the UK Neutrino Factory stand, but the day as a whole should be relevant and interesting. The "Lord Sainsbury" guy mentioned in the programme often controls funding for large scale projects (our lab's organisation gets the occasional £10 million at his request). "Chris Llewellyn-Smith" runs the fusion research lab at Culham, just about 10 miles down the road from RAL. |
