The new best muon transfer comes from WAY down the stats list (took me a while to find it).

313. PantherTi - - - 66 4`102`448 (.013%) 3.133% (1st)

This is wierd because this guy was stuck with a ZERO score for a while because of uploading with the wrong version of the manualsend or something similar.  Now in two runs (apparently on top of the best1000 - the previous 64 results were low) he's got the top muon score!

Woah!

Though it's maybe a little suspicous.  Perhaps it's a really-really-really-really-extremely rare outlier result?

There MUST be a way to verify this as being correct, right?

Recompile the program so that it only runs the simulation with the same perameters.

wow, that seems to be very unrealistic....
maybe PantherTi should go more often to a casino, with that amount of luck...

p.s. have you tested that result?

Haven't tested it myself yet, but guess what - a third >3% result appeared last night!  I initially thought the first 3.048% got by DERGmeister of Tierrasanta was an outlier.  But the frequency with which outliers occur does NOT accelerate unless there is some underlying improvement as well.

Don't worry - I can confirm these results myself - it just takes a while and I'll probably only do it to a large extent after this project has finished.  I can, however, test 'suspicious' results once or twice just to make sure they're not completely false.  I might do that tomorrow.  Incidentally, version 4.22 (which is finally beginning to take shape) has checksums that protect against falsification of muon-percentage.

Well a fair amount of the project's power does come from users rank 100-400, so I guess it's not so surprising he produced that result instead of say [SG]DOA doing it.  He may also be one of these people who only manualsends in individual high results and doesn't bother to send the rest (a few seem to like doing it that way, I don't know why!).
