AFAIK their isn't a smilie key chart anywhere around here (if there is then please inform us here!  ).

I'm going to have to add an underscore in my chart here so that you can see how it's typed, just omit the underscore of course when you go to actually use them!.

:_) = Happy face/smile
:_( = Sad face
B_) = Face with shades/cool (I stumbled across this one when writing MB in brackets!
;_) = Wink
:_P = Poke tongue out/razz
:_D =

I hope I've got this right as we can't edit here!
IIRC if you have a smilie in brackets you need to leave a space or it'll break it.
If there's anymore LMK.

2008-12-23 00:36:25
Then again maybe we don't need to leave a space!, at least I got the smilies right .
I wonder if this one works too...

:_| = :| Mad face/angry
[TA]Assimilator1
2008-12-23 00:43:11
Nope that didn't work.  :/ :\
I already know :Q (shocked face) doesn't work .
Hmm no embarrased smilie?  :$
I've just seen that I missed the description for , obviously it's a grinning face.

Hey Stephen can you edit my posts for me?
[TA]Assimilator1
2008-12-23 00:47:36
Ah ha!, yes it did work!

Maybe this?  :_O =
[TA]Assimilator1

Put evilgrin mrgreen angel and tiphat between colons.

I wonder if the mad face is mad between columns... oh & maybe startled is eek between columns

And I wanta know how the heck you got the spinning duck head!
[TA]Assimilator1
2008-12-31 02:14:19

2008-12-31 02:17:19

Hmm , :wth: :wtf:
[TA]Assimilator1
2008-12-31 02:22:42

Updated chart seeing as I can't edit & Stephen hasn't

I've added an underscore in my chart here so that you can see how it's typed, just omit the underscore of course when you go to actually use them.

:_) = Happy
:_( = Sad
B_) = Face with shades/cool (I stumbled across this one when writing MB in brackets!)
;_) = Wink
:_P = Poke tongue out/razz
:_D = Grin
:_o = Embarrassed
:_S or :_confused: = Confused
:_evilgrin: = Evil grin
:_mrgreen: = No idea what this one's about!
:_angel: = Angel
:_tiphat: = Tiphat
:_mad: = Mad/angry
:_eek: = :ekk: Startled/shocked

Waiting to hear from Stephen on how to do the duckrot one!

Lol, , just wait to see what my time machine can do to benchmarks, think I'll go into the future & benchmark an Intel Core 8 32 core 20 GHz

So are you ever going to tell us how you did the duckrot smilie?, you seem to be keeping it a secret so far!, or is it a classic case of Stephen missing questions again?
Stephen Brooks
2010-01-16 17:13:52
There's actually something wrong with that smiley.  (°)> was supposed to generate it, but the degree character goes outside standard ASCII and gets mangled by the browser in odd ways.  I had to type in a very strange combination of symbols (which I now don't remember) to get it in the first place.  In the meanwhile you could just use the image HTML...
[TA]Assimilator1
2010-01-16 18:49:38
Yea I wouldn't know how to type the degree symbol, & fair enough about the combination .

How do I use the the image HTML?  you've lost me there ...........

How come in other threads holding the pointer over the smilie tells you what it is?, yet in here it doesn't!

Have we got all the smilies now?

Testing a few more (')> (">
(odd that that produced a wink....)

You needed FIVE edits to write a four line post?

You can actually delete the text so it only leaves the final edit notification.
[TA]Assimilator1
2010-01-17 13:22:31
Yea, to get the html right
I did realise latter I could of deleted the 'edited by' texts, but it was too late by then.

..........& darn you, another smilie!

Let's see , nope that didn't work, html I guess..... Yep .

OK chart update for the following 2 smilies it's html only (pretty much), again underscore added to show text :-

<_img src='/forum/smilies/eyebrow'> = Raise eyebrows (I think, its hard to see)

<_img src='/forum/smilies/duckrot'> = Duck with spinning head!  (Don't ask me lol).

Btw one issue with the edit function is that it de-selects the html box each time.

Have we got all the smilies now?  or are thier loads more?
