It's encouraging how many people are actually doing stuff like this, although I have to say that 2nd one's test motor looks rather too much like directly lighting the output from a gas canister!  The first one's "hybrid engine" (hollow pipe of fuel with oxidant going down the middle) idea is a very nice concept, especially considering they seem to be able to burn just-about-anything-that's-carbon-based as fuel so long as they put enough LOX in.
