As version 4.21b takes longer in proportion to the muon yield, I was wondering how others were doing on a Gigacycles/Run/Average % Yield basis.  On my AMD K6-2 500 MHz machine I am at 9280 Gcycle/Run/% (ie.  it take me 309.34 minutes to process a run that eventually has a yield of 1%).  I'm going to redo the calcs tonight to see if I made an error...
I'm wondering how far off I am: a factor of 2, 5, 10, or 20?

So, now some Benchmark

With and without Bonus Particles ....
My 50 PC (30x 800Mhz and 12x 500Mhz) [24Ghz + 6Ghz]
do 338Mio Particles (incl.  Bonus multipier) in 48h ....

This are 65 Particles/Sec/Ghz (IF i calc WITH the bonus)

this was 2 times faster / more than with 4.2 and the 0.xxx% Results ...

Bonus are great cool

You like it without Bonus... ?  Ok ...
65'656'291 Particles .. frown frown frown
12.6 Particles/Sec/Ghz

On my first machine I took the time for one result with a yield of 2.417490 %.
The Athlon with 1.2 GC/s processed the workunit in 195 min, that are

4.484 particles/((GC/s)*s) without bonus.

The Benchmark from last Weekend:

With Bonus Particles ....
My 50 PC (30x 800Mhz and 12x 500Mhz) [24Ghz + 6Ghz]
do 225Mio Particles (incl.  Bonus multipier) in 48h ....

This are 43 Particles/Sec/Ghz (IF i calc WITH the bonus)

I think... the Bonus is not high enough now the particles with Bonus falls down..

OK.  You could well be right there, as the "bonus" system was only really an interim measure until I change the whole system in version 5. Either that or there are some results cached/unsent on your computers still.

Bluumi,
what about installing some CPUs onto your last 8 machines !?!
50 PCs overall; 30 @ 800MHz; 12 @ 500MHz, so I guess the last eight ones contain fans for cooling the others...(model "Potemkin" with 0Mhz) big grin

eek

Oh!  You have right!!!  ... the math is wrong... they are 22 not 12x 500 ....
and ...

My 50 PC (30x 800Mhz and 22x 500Mhz) [24Ghz + 11Ghz]
do 225Mio Particles (incl.  Bonus multipier) in 48h ....

This are 36 Particles/Sec/Ghz (IF i calc WITH the bonus)

Sorry for my Fan-Less PC's (ok, i know it's 52, but 50 sonds better smile )
