stephenbrooks.org : Pause background muon1Thread 'Pause background muon1' on New Users Q&Ahttps://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520zerberusNow correct. Maybe except for the fact the GUI version autosaves whenever you quit.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12765Mon, 04 Feb 2013 23:27:23 +0000Stephen BrooksI've fixed that answer in the FAQ.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12764Mon, 04 Feb 2013 18:39:25 +0000zerberus@RGtx: I did talk about suspending, not killing. Besides, I run two muon1 clients. Your solution would kill both.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12761Mon, 04 Feb 2013 13:35:01 +0000GP500oh stephen then the FAQ is outdated, because there it states that there is no inbetween saves. only after each simulation. "When does the client save its results? At the end of each run of the simulation, when the time index has got to "t = 200.0ns" (300 or 500 ns for newer optimisations). If you quit the program you will lose the calculation for the incomplete run that it is currently processing." Ps: unlike a certain boinc-project , dpad doesn't seems to intervere with the program i want to run now and then.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12759Mon, 04 Feb 2013 11:01:14 +0000RGtxMuch easier solution, use "Taskkill /im muon1.exe" in a .bat file.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12757Sun, 03 Feb 2013 22:05:00 +0000zerberusHow about implementing flagfiles? Example: Drop an empty file with a certain name (e. g. muon.stop) into the muon directory and it suspends. Delete the file again and it resumes.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12754Sun, 03 Feb 2013 19:05:31 +0000Stephen BrooksThere was never a way to pause muon1_background.exe because it has no interface. You can either close it in task manager (since autosave files are made, you won't lose more than a few minutes work) or assign it a very low priority level in task manager, so it doesn't interfere with other tasks. There is also an option in config.txt to automatically suspend when it is being run on a laptop on battery power.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12753Sun, 03 Feb 2013 16:31:56 +0000GP500How can i pause muon1-background, i now have to close it in taskmanager.https://stephenbrooks.org/forum/?thread=1520#post12752Sun, 03 Feb 2013 11:17:21 +0000
