Improved it some more now - with bars and stuff.

Yep, can underline this.

I noticed you even implemented sub-team percentages... Nice.  *g*

Simply place the team shortcut in your user.txt.  For example if you like to join Team ARS Technica you simply place an [ARS] in front or back of your user name.
The stats engine will then add you to the team.

so if I change my username, are my "old" results still counted???  because I'd prefer not to start at zero in the stats wink

Not automatically - the new username will start from zero.  However if you ask nicely I will rename some files here on the stats machine so your results get transferred.

DOA, Thanks man!  wink
We need all the help we can master wink
btw, aside from this issue, do you have any people leaving SETI because of cheating issue?  Or is it being discussed at all?

I think that rename should be done now (hopefully I don't need to remind you that YOUR user.txt files must also be modified to reflect this change).

"MaFi [rechenkraft.net]"

@all: Sorry for my English, I hope you can understand what I mean wink ...

@Stephen: I want to "infect" some over machines.  Can I use my results.dat from my first PC or should I start at the beginning?  If I understand it right, the algorithm is self-learning and it must be the same because the other machine goes his own way?  Only the startdifficulty will be skiped.

@odessit: The cheating was one reason for some people in our team to calm down the seti-cpus.  We discussed about this in our forum but nobody will therefore end the crunching for seti.  DOA had only posted in one thread about the muon-project and some of us meant, that they can't leave him alone wink big grin For me there was no problem with seti, because I'm crunching since tight a year mostly for UD and only some WUs for seti - and now some days (or weeks?) for muon too wink big grin

@MaFi: Do you worried about our new fast team?  big grin

@DOA: Du mußt aber auch gleich wieder übertreiben!  Ãœber 60% vom Team-Output!  big grin *winke-winke*

You can copy results.dat across from other machines without a problem, and this will work as you expect.  You can even (for best results) edit the files in WordPad and append several results.dat together so that all your programs can learn from all the results.

@ stephen: is it possible, that my results from version 4.0x got lost?
it wasn't very much so don't worry about!  smile , i am just wondering what
happened.

I moved your 4.0x results over to the new username, or at least that's what I think I did.

@Proteino: Maybe you could NOW use this fabulous Top250-result.dat-File offered by Stephen...
Skips the work you'll have modifiyn your result.dat's and should have even higher yield-results than your own.

@odessit: No prob, even if he did finally choose [rechenknraft.net]... Was a try... *sncr*
And a bit off topic: Yeah, there's been quite some discussions on cheating at our fora as well.  We know - as ARS & S@NL know too - that we've got cheaters among us.
In the past we were able to pinpoint a few by knowing the ways they work and get them handed to Berkeley so their account's could be checked and removed, if really cheat infested.  Anyway, we handled this behind the stage, so to speak.  Nobody likes to be accused just for fun...
But after the sparkling discussion at your fora and fragile's postings the flames grew higher.  Some of us were at a point were we were not willing to longer tolerate Berkeley sitting around and doing nothing about this issue.  I mean, I#m an hardware editor for a bigger german IT magazine, having my own labs and being responsible for CPUs, systems & cooling.  I've got the hardware - and I've got it crunching 24/7/365. In my lab it#s around 55-57 dB(A) and avering 29°C. I'm testing & writing there whole day.  I've got new power lines after causing some...errm...power failures... I mean - I'm DOING freakingly something for this project.  And taht leaves the 5 machines at home aside.  And THEN Berkeley's sitting still, doing nothing.  Well, meanwhile the ycleared it up and accelerate on S@H II, but it#s bee kind of too late for me.
I left all my fast machines doing an seti WU in under 4 hours on the project (still good for about 110/d and a further improvement of my averages and switched all my older machines to Muon1 - which I discovered reading your fora and your submissions there...
So if I wouldn#t have reda this my S@H output would still be lowered 'cause I would have simply switched them older comps off.  But YOU gave them oldies a perfect new goal in a project, I really like so far... *ggg* Thanx man.

I've been considering making that 8-hex-digit checksum in Muon1's also incorporate an obscurity-checksum of the result itself (and moving the security code to a non-released source module), so cheats or accidental modifications to records can be removed automatically before Muon1 sends them in.

This will be in some later version like 4.22 or 4.23. It'll be a while before I put it in, but it's now on the to-do list.
