RGtx 2008-05-28 21:14:11 | For over a month "FTP Server status" has indicated, for muon1.wmikrut.com "Host unreachable (no DNS)". Yet my client will happily upload results to this server. Less happily, after 24 hrs they do not appear within your stats, and have to be resubmitted. Perhaps, you could remove this server from the servers.csv file until such time this issue is resolved. |
Stephen Brooks 2008-05-28 22:27:05 | Uh? If there is no DNS, how does Muon1 even find the server to upload to it? Tomorrow I'll look and see if I've been receiving anything from the wmikrut server recently. Generally, the only way results can get lost like this is if the server is accepting uploads but not doing downloads. |
RGtx 2008-05-29 12:03:54 | Heres proof he is receiving results: 20080528-170550 59 results sent to muon1.wmikrut.com And no, at this time, your server has not received them. |
Stephen Brooks 2008-05-29 12:19:33 | The logs say I've not managed to download anything from wmikrut's server since at latest November 2007. I've not been able to get any e-mail response from the guy on a few attempts since then, so I'll remove the server. |
[DPC]white_panther 2008-05-29 17:52:35 | and what about matrixworld.serveftp.org, it says no ftp, are you able to download anny results from this server? |
Stephen Brooks 2008-05-30 15:32:09 | The last I downloaded from matrixworld was May 23rd at 3pm (i.e. one week ago). I've e-mailed the guy who runs it to ask why his FTP server is no longer working. |
Independence 2008-05-31 11:26:53 | The problem is solved. The server (matrixworld server) works fine. A application was hanging. Cheers Independence (alias SKAARI) |
Stephen Brooks 2008-05-31 13:24:35 | Thanks! |
RGtx 2008-10-03 15:56:33 | Does White-Panther.mine.nu require a purgative? Though, it is over twenty hours since I fed it results, "20081002-165035 51 results sent to white-panther.mine.nu" it has, so far, failed to disgorge them. |
RGtx 2008-10-04 21:19:51 | Today, I resent these results through the very same server, and they were correctly regurgitated. |
[DPC]white_panther 2008-10-05 00:58:28 | that was my error, the hd ware full and i didn't saw that. sorry |
[TA]JonB 2008-10-06 03:07:49 | RGtx, you can manually edit the servers.csv file with a text editor to remove an entry. Just be sure to set it to Read Only or it will get overwritten quickly by an update. I've done that in the past when servers got stuck. |
RGtx 2009-10-21 15:22:59 | Somebody may have to give their server a boot. |
[DPC]white_panther 2009-10-22 19:15:11 | you mean the someone who posted the 2e post |
Stephen Brooks 2009-10-25 01:20:25 | I'm not quite sure what I did, but it's working again now. |
RGtx 2009-11-06 15:24:58 | "but it's working again now" Not for long, it ain't. |
Stephen Brooks 2009-11-07 00:20:08 | Looks like it stopped some time on Nov 3rd. I've rebooted the server, see if that helps. |
Stephen Brooks 2009-11-08 01:30:33 | It's now accepting connections. I may have closed it instead of minimising it to the tray the previous time. |
[DPC]white_panther 2009-11-12 19:39:50 | and it's down again |
Stephen Brooks 2009-11-13 22:12:41 | It seems that GuildFTP gets very slow when the connection log gets long (maybe a slow sort process or something). Anyway, I've put a scheduled job to clear the log each night, that should make it more responsive, though I'm not sure if that's the problem. |
Xanathorn 2009-11-16 23:38:38 | That's why I switched from guildftp to serv-u a long while ago. Back in the days with alot of flushes the program tended to hang or crash. Nothing bad about guildftp, it's a great program. Just serv-u is using resources better, even with long logs. |
Stephen Brooks 2009-11-17 11:31:50 | Thanks, if I get any more trouble with it I'll consider switching (or changing the recommendation in the instructions). |
[DPC]white_panther 2009-11-17 18:06:44 | i'm started with serv-u and i never got any problems with it. i'm using it for over 5 years now. |
[DPC]white_panther 2009-11-25 15:25:33 | oke stephen, start installing serv-u |
Stephen Brooks 2009-11-28 22:59:15 | Problem that time wasn't the software, it was the hardware for some reason going into hibernate/low-power mode and shutting down either its HDD or NIC. |
[DPC]white_panther 2010-01-05 20:49:05 | stephen please restart youre ftp server(software) |
Stephen Brooks 2010-01-06 11:03:01 | I can see the server logging onto it now and another user, so it's working. |
[DPC]white_panther 2010-01-18 16:43:23 | stephen please restart youre ftp server(software) again |
